Do I need a prescription to see you?
There is direct access for physical therapy for 10 visits or 30 days. After which you are required by NY State law to have a prescription for physical therapy treatment.

Do you participate with my insurance?
At the present time I am out of network with all insurances. However depending on out of network coverage for your insurance, your visits may be up to 80% reimbursable. I will gladly provide you with documentation of my services to give to your insurance provider or to submit to flex spending.

Why should I pay to see you instead of using my insurance?
In reality only you can answer this question. What you will get in my treatment session is undivided attention for a full hour of treatment. You will have an opportunity to ask questions and have them answered fully. This will give you ability to learn as much as you like about your body and your symptoms. You will receive outstanding manual treatment techniques utilizing a variety of different approaches that I have spent a great deal of time studying and performing. I will not repeat the same thing over and over hoping your body with just stop hurting eventually. Because you live in your body and know it better than anyone else you will also be asked to provide feedback. Together we will discuss what treatments you find the most helpful and will create a unique treatment for your body and your needs. You will receive both stretching and strengthening activities to do between visits to continue to progress and maintain your gains. In addition you will be taught self-care and breathing techniques to aid in your treatment. I will foster your independence in your care so that you feel confident that you can treat yourself and your symptoms. You will be honored as a person with a body, mind and spirit, not just parts. Finally, when you consider the costs of going to traditional physical therapy three times per week and the copay required at each visit, you may find the difference in cost may not be what you thought it was.

Can I see you if I am pregnant?
YES! Pregnancy is a time of great change in a woman’s body and with great change can come pain and discomfort. Both physical therapy and massage can be very beneficial throughout the pregnancy and even after as your body will begin to shift again after delivery.

Pregnancy Body Cushion SystemPregnancy massage can give your body relief from tightness and soreness that is generalized or all over your body. If you have a consistent specific pain, manual physical therapy treatments may assist your body in supporting your changing structure. In either situation I have a wonderful tool called the body cushion system that is very helpful in treatment. It allows the pregnant woman to lie comfortably supported on her stomach or side due to cut outs in the cushion for the belly and breasts, while supporting the head and legs. This allows you to spend some time in a position that has been unavailable and it allows a way to work the back muscles in a more relaxed state.
